Tiny Tims - December!

TINY TIMS

1/2 c butter
1/2 c shortening
1/4 c confectioners sugar
1 t almond flavoring
2 1/3 c flour

Mix all ingredients well.  Shape into 1/2" balls.  Place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Flatten 1/2 the balls with glass dipped in red sugar.  Flatten the other half of the balls with glass dipped in green sugar.  Bake 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees until lightly browned.  Cool on racks.

Frosting

2 c confectioners sugar
3 T butter
4 1/2 t whipping cream
3/4 t almond flavoring
red and green food coloring

Beat well.  Divide frosting in half and color one half red and one half green.  Use a teaspoon of frosting and two cookies...red frosting with red sugar cookie top and bottom...green frosting with green sugar cookie top and bottom.  Makes just a "bite" and they melt in your mouth.  Would be very cute with Valentine, Spring or Halloween colors, too.  Just know that you will love 'em!
